So it has been just over 10 days since I made my big Hello to the month post. It was the one outlining my hope for sinking teeth into the new year and a variety of other things. I have to say first of all, I am making progress. Second, I am still getting used to this new computer of mine. I am a big fan though. I am not a big fan of the fact that I can’t seem to find a skin for the keyboard that will fit, but well that is what it is. Anyways. I have done a fair amount of behind the scenes work to get things really rolling and moving forward. I am happy to be getting things done, but I wish that progress was better. Of course progress is a bit slower then I would have liked it to be because of…
Sometimes I have gotten the offhanded and random comments that it seems I create a lot of different things that might not always fit in the same category. Recently I have had a few more of those comments, not meant in a mean fashion I know because of the upcoming items and some of the new items being posted in the Etsy shop under the Creations of Bastet banner. I have even had it suggested by a few that I should perhaps open a second shop. A second shop would be a lot of work and while I am no stranger to hard work and I really don’t mind it most days I feel that time would be better spent focusing on the marketing and creation of the current shop. Every once in a while I waffle about it and almost hit that create button.
So why do I have such an eclectic array of items that I create? Well the simplistic answer is that my brain works that way. I constantly want to try new things, create new things. My brain is always rolling along with ideas even as I am creating something else. I have always been like that and literally have to keep a notebook next to my bed to write things down in the middle of the night or day (depending when I am able to get sleep) so that I can get back to sleep knowing the idea was documented. This doesn’t mean that any of my crafts or choices suffer, to me it just means I have more to offer out to the world. I really, truly just love creating and experimenting and having fun using what skills I have. Many of my friends have fun calling me the creating Macgyver. I don’t mind that badge at all.
I am not even really sure why I felt the need to write this down as a post on the blog, maybe because I just want those who may read this as a shopper with the shop to know I do take everything I create seriously. I put love and care into each and every one of my items. It does not matter if it is some hand dipped incense, crochet slipper socks, dog paw balm or essential oil items. Everything is done carefully and tested where they need to be tested.
I can only hope that my lovely customers enjoy and continue to enjoy the results of what has been lovingly dubbed my Floki brain. Thanks to this overactive brain that just goes anywhere it pleases and takes me with it, there are going to be a lot of new items popping up in the shop. New items that I am very excited about and I wish there were more hours in the day so that I could create even more for you. The eye shadow shades and items alone have filled up more than 5 pages in a notebook and that is just with the idea’s not the actual formulas.
So I hope everyone is strapped in and ready for the geek flag, freak flag and creative flag to be flown hard and high. 2017 is going to be a big year (I hope) and I hope to keep delivering fantastic items and customer service to anyone who comes into my shop. In the meantime, I will let you get back to your regularly scheduled picture posts of what is going on in the shop!
at the same time you fall in love with a favorite band all over again. Not overly crochet or business related but it does go towards the creative creation here at creations of Bastet I think there will be a lot of brainstorming done in the future projects notebook! #prettypicture #music #musiccreativity #oasis #sadsong #dontgoaway #standbyme #dontlookbackinanger #talktonight #brainstorming #creationsofbastet
Creations of Bastet would like to say a very Happy New Year to everyone who sees this. 2015 was a long year but it saw a lot of growth in areas and some failures in others. Updating this blog regularly was one of those failures. But it is not one that will be allowed to continue. There are plans in the works. Plans that will hopefully continue to grow things here at Creations of Bastet.
The biggest goal I am setting here at Creations of Bastet is to not just focus on the Etsy side of things and share more here at the blog. One way to do that is going to be to set up a separate instagram that will show things in progress. Up until now I have only showed my WIP on my personal feed and Facebook. That will change. I want you to see how projects come along. Perhaps you will see one you like, or perhaps you will like the basic design but want it made custom. All of this can be done for you.
Welcome to the blog area of Creations of Bastet. We are very much under construction and will be adding more things and making sure links work but we thought to post this welcome link! On the blog you will find a variety of things from on going client projects to specials and even some tutorials as time goes by! Make yourself at home. Kick up your feet and don’t forget to pop by the Etsy shop as well. We will be getting the shop up and going slowly as well but in the meantime you can find all of our products there!
